I need to vent

The third term is over and it was tremendously difficult. I had to take two math courses and two physics courses. In addition, I had to take a physics lab.    These physics experiments were very difficult. First of all, we have to prepare for the next experiment every week using the textbook and videos. When we do the experiments, we have to do a lot of steady work. When the experiment is over, we have to submit a report by the next week.    I also had a part-time job, but it was so hard that I thought about quitting. I also wanted to participate in club activities, so I was very busy. Two math courses and two physics courses are also busy for homework.     I thought that university students could lead a more carefree life, but it was quite busy. However, in the fourth term, I had more time to spare. I am very happy that I have more time to do what I want.

Playing the Piano

I often choose songs that I like and want to play on the piano, and search for sheet music on the Internet to play them. The piano songs I have been practicing are mostly my favorite anime songs and classics.    I usually listen to music when I am studying or traveling on the train, and sometimes when I am listening to music, I suddenly feel like playing it on the piano. My mother taught me Flea Waltz. After I learned to play that, I practiced the Turkish March next. Now I am practicing With Love In My Heart composed by Chopin.    Practicing the piano is a lot of fun. When it's your first time playing a piece, it takes quite a long time to get used to reading music and so on, but that's part ...

Scientific American: To Better Persuade a Human, a Robot Should Use This Trick

Robots can do a lot of things. They can build cars, they can put products on the shelves of a grocery store, they can They can process COVID tests in automated labs. But can a robot change your mind? Well, that depends. Because a new study shows that robots are more persuasive when they’re presented as a peer, as opposed to an authority figure. Every year we’re seeing more and more robots, in greater numbers of tasks and environments around our world. So robots don’t have the luxury of just being functional anymore.    To engage with the humans, they also have to be relatable. For example, imagine a robot helping out in a care facility…delivering a meal or dropping off meds. In nursing homes, residents often do not want to eat or take their medications. Therefore, the caregiver must sit there and have a conversation with them for 10, 15, or 20 minutes to convey the importance of the medication.    In fact, for a robot to do such a job, it would have...
